1. Introduction
At InterBuddy, we respect your inbox and your right to choose what emails you receive from us. This page allows you to manage your email preferences or unsubscribe from our mailing list entirely.
You do not need to log in to your InterBuddy account to change your email preferences. Simply enter your registered email address and select your preferred option below.
Any changes you make here will take effect within 24 hours. If you continue to receive emails after 24 hours, please contact us at hello@interbuddy.in.
2. Your Email Preference Options
You may choose one of the following four options. Each option is explained in detail below.
2.1 Reduce Email Frequency
If you find our emails useful but feel you are receiving too many, you can choose to reduce the frequency. With this option, you will only receive:
- Career alerts (internships, jobs, and fresher openings)
- Gig opportunity notifications
- Major event announcements (hackathons, workshops, webinars)
You will no longer receive daily newsletters, promotional emails, blog updates, or community digest emails. This is the recommended option for most students.
2.2 Pause Emails for 30 Days
If you need a temporary break from all InterBuddy emails, you can pause them for 30 days. This is ideal during exam season, holidays, or any time you need to focus without inbox distractions.
After the 30-day pause period ends, your previous email preferences will automatically resume. You do not need to take any action to reactivate them. If you wish to extend the pause, you may return to this page and select this option again.
2.3 Career & Gigs Only
If you are only interested in professional opportunities, you can choose to receive emails exclusively about:
- Internship openings and fresher job alerts
- Part-time and full-time job notifications
- Freelance gig opportunities (graphic design, content writing, video editing, digital marketing, data entry, and more)
All other emails including newsletters, event invitations, community updates, finance tips, study abroad guides, and ambassador programme communications will be stopped.
2.4 Unsubscribe from All Marketing Emails
If you wish to stop receiving all marketing and promotional emails from InterBuddy, you may select this option. Once confirmed:
- You will no longer receive any newsletters, promotions, career alerts, gig notifications, event invitations, or community updates from InterBuddy.
- Your InterBuddy account will remain active and your data will not be affected.
- You can re-subscribe at any time by logging into your InterBuddy account and updating your notification settings, or by contacting us at hello@interbuddy.in.
3. Transactional Emails
Regardless of the preference you choose above, you will continue to receive transactional and service-related emails. These are not marketing emails and are necessary for the operation of your account. Transactional emails include:
- Gig payment confirmations and payout receipts
- Login alerts and security notifications
- Password reset and account recovery emails
- Account verification and two-factor authentication codes
- Order confirmations and application fee payment receipts
- Legal and policy update notices required by law
Transactional emails cannot be unsubscribed from as they are essential for the security and functionality of your InterBuddy account. This is in accordance with the CAN-SPAM Act and applicable Indian IT regulations.
4. Optional Feedback
If you choose to unsubscribe from all emails (Option 2.4), we will present an optional feedback field. You are not required to provide feedback, but any input you share helps us improve the experience for other students on the platform.
Examples of feedback we find helpful:
- Too many emails
- Content is not relevant to me
- I found what I needed and no longer require updates
- I have switched to another platform
- I have graduated and no longer need student services
Your feedback is anonymous and will not be linked to your account or shared with any third party.
5. How to Re-subscribe
If you change your mind after unsubscribing or adjusting your preferences, you can re-subscribe at any time through any of the following methods:
- Log in to your InterBuddy account, go to Settings, and update your Email Notification Preferences.
- Visit https://interbuddy.in/unsubscribe/ and select a new preference option.
- Send an email to hello@interbuddy.in with the subject line “Re-subscribe” and we will restore your email preferences within 48 hours.
- Contact us via WhatsApp and request re-subscription.
Re-subscription is free and takes effect within 24 hours.
6. Your Data & Privacy
Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not delete your InterBuddy account or any associated data. Your profile, community memberships, gig history, career preferences, and saved content will remain intact.
If you wish to delete your account and all associated data permanently, please refer to our Privacy Policy at https://interbuddy.in/privacy-policy/ or contact our support team at hello@interbuddy.in.
InterBuddy does not sell, rent, or share your email address with any third-party advertisers. Your email is used solely for InterBuddy communications and service delivery. For complete details on how we handle your personal information, please review our Privacy Policy.
7. Third-Party Communications
Suggested text: If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
InterBuddy may occasionally send emails on behalf of verified partner organisations, including universities, financial institutions, and skill training providers. These emails are always sent through InterBuddy and your email address is never shared directly with the partner.
If you select “Reduce Email Frequency” or “Career & Gigs Only,” partner communications will be stopped unless they fall within your selected category (for example, a university open day invitation may be included under Career alerts). Selecting “Unsubscribe from All” will stop all partner communications as well.
8. Processing Time
All email preference changes are processed within 24 hours. In rare cases, you may receive one or two additional emails that were already scheduled before your request was processed. If you continue to receive marketing emails more than 48 hours after submitting your preference change, please contact us immediately at hello@interbuddy.in and we will resolve the issue.
9. Stay Connected
Even if you choose to unsubscribe from all emails, you can still stay connected with InterBuddy through our social media channels and community platforms:
- Twitter / X: Follow us for quick updates, opportunity alerts, and student tips.
- Instagram: Behind-the-scenes content, student stories, and event highlights.
- LinkedIn: Professional updates, career insights, and industry connections.
- WhatsApp: Join our student community groups for real-time discussions.
You can also continue to use the InterBuddy mobile app and website to access all platform features including community forums, career listings, gigs, higher education tools, and finance services without receiving any marketing emails.
